Grey: "We're a two-person company, it's just me an my wife. I'm the technical guru, and she handles the business operations. I have to know a lot about MySQL, but that's much too technical for her. I have frequently had to setup CGI scripts (I code in Perl) so she can manage some of our tables (suppliers, manufacturers, etc).

I discovered PHP Generator a couple of days ago, tried the free version,and within a few hours I had purchased the Pro version (as well as SQL Maestro for MySQL).

Today I am completing the conversion of the last of my custom table managers to PHP Generator. This is eliminating several thousand lines of code that I don't have to support any more!

Thanks for this fantastic product".

Peter Robinson: "As a tech savvy company director, I wanted an inexpensive web based database application to manage all aspects of my business. As with most humans I find developing purely by CLI very hard and do not have the will or time to invest in improving my skills. I was looking to find a nice human friendly GUI to design and build my application, which is when I came across PHP Generator for MySQL.

Whilst you still need a great understanding of logic and a small amount of programming ability to get the specific results you require, I am very happy with the speed of progress I have been making with this invaluable tool.

With all the standard libraries included, this product makes normal requirements such as JavaScript form validation, lookup selectors, on click events, auto complete, detailed searches, multiformat exports, rss feeds and username security straight forward and quick.

Having any changes made via the GUI written to the web server at the click of a button makes testing out ideas quick and easy without fear of breaking your application.

To conclude, I couldn't find any other product on the market that came close to offering the amount of options this does, and I do hope that more products like this come out in the future, with the hope of eventually eradicating the need to program all together".

MySQL Service Center 4.7 (former version 1.2) released

In this version we have implemented the support of secure protocol for connections to a remote MySQL server. The secure connection can be established through the Secure SHell (SSH) tunnel which is considered as one of the most secure ways to communicate with remote servers over the Internet. Now it is possible to backup and maintain the remote MySQL databases using MySQL Service Center even if MySQL port is blocked at the remote server for security reasons.

Also we have fixed a few minor bugs and added small improvements:

  • we have added an ability to execute tasks by schedule eternally, i.e. without execution of count limit or end date;
  • in some cases, MySQL Service Center window did close even if Cancel was pushed in the exit confirmation dialog;
  • password settings for tasks could be stored incorrectly in some cases. It is fixed now.
